INCURIN®

INCURIN® - Overview

Oestriol 1 mg

INCURIN® contains oestriol, a naturally occurring short-acting oestrogen with high affinity for receptors in the cells of the lower urogenital tract and is indicated as an aid in the treatment of hormone-responsive urinary incontinence in ovariohysterectomised bitches. Oestriol works to control urinary incontinence in spayed bitches by restoring the normal tone of the urethral sphincter muscle, improving the urodynamic function of the bladder and restoring the urethral epithelium. Oestriol also increases the sensitivity of the urogenital tract to alpha-adrenergic stimulation hence improving the response to sympathetic nervous stimulation or sympathomimetic drugs.

Oestriol has a short receptor occupancy time and therefore unwanted oestrogenic effects such as proliferation of the endometrium and bone marrow depression are not seen.
Presented in blister packs containing 30 x 1 mg tablets.
